The Need to Broaden our Thinking on Employee Wellness

By October 17, 2017Uncategorized

We need to recognise the interdependency between wellness and work – and, more broadly, between employee wellness and the company’s ability to compete and innovate. Many organisations are recognizing that recruiting, energizing, motivating, and taking care of their people is their competitive edge. We need to take the concept of employee wellness to a whole different level, addressing multiple aspects of individual wellness – from physical and mental health and work-life balance, to fair pay, workplace culture, and the alignment of work with peoples’ intrinsic motivations.

The implementation of a workplace wellness initiative as a standalone detached concept from an organisation’s broader people strategy and cultural alignment will undoubtedly result in minimal impact & minimal engagement.
